Driven by a fascination with the hidden dangers lurking in our digital world,
Lari Huttunen has been involved in cybersecurity since the late 1990s. Along the way, he’s investigated cybercrime, uncovered 0-days through fuzzing, and contributed to research on the global impact of known vulnerabilities and exposures. The goal has always been the same: to develop practical solutions, raise awareness, and help others see what’s hiding in plain sight.

Lari was the editor of Public Exposure and is now the editor-in-chief of this blog. He’s also a photography enthusiast, so many of the photos used on the blog come from his own portfolio.

According to Mikko Hyppönen, Lari was the first person to tweet about Heartbleed—not just to break the news, but to sound the alarm when it looked like the vulnerability was about to be quietly swept under the rug. Sometimes, you need to wake the world up and remind them to smell the coffee.

Online, you’ll often find him as “svimes”—a nod to Samuel Vimes of Ankh-Morpork, whose stubborn sense of duty and knack for spotting trouble resonate deeply. If you see a perimeter being watched, chances are he’s somewhere nearby, coffee in hand.
